New undergraduate diplomas (Bachelor) in Biology (student’s guide, new study structure, back)

The academic year 2005-06 started with the application of two teaching plans for the new 3-year graduate curricula: Biology and Environmental Biology. It is achieved during the reform of biological curricula that aimed to bring the biological curricula at the UT, in accordance with changing needs in Albania, and into line with recognized EU standards. The new teaching plans and programs were updated, and for the first time the credit transfer system (ECTS) is applied.

The reform in biological curricula was facilitated by the Tempus JEP No: CD_JEP-17099-2002 ‘Development/up-dating of curricula/courses in Biological Sciences in Tirana University’ (running during the yrs. 2003-06). It was result of many discussions within in Department of Biology and wider in particular the experiences of our two project partners - University of Bari and Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena. However, as in every new experience, even here the possibility to improve further exists. As such, the Department of Biology is always open toward any suggestion and comment aiming in further improvement.
