Postgraduate studies in Biology (Student’s Guide, back)
Existing
postgraduate studies (SHPUs
or Masters) (teaching plans, programs)
Department of Biology is
solely responsible for the administration of all postgraduate courses in biology.
In the existing post-graduate system, DB has organized up to six
masters programs (SHPUs): Botany,
Zoology-Ecology, Cell-Molecular Biology, Microbiology-Biotechnology, Population
Genetics, Environmental Protection.
New postgraduate
studies (Masters)
In the new
postgraduate system there are approved five two-year diplomas (MSc, Masters): 1) Plant Biology; 2)
Animal Biology; 3) Environmental Biology; 4) Cell-Molecular Biology; 5)
Microbiology-Biotechnology. Teaching plans of the new postgraduate courses
are still under the process of preparation; some subjects would have the same
programs of the existing postgraduate courses.
New postgraduate
course for Teachers of Biology (one year)
One year
Postgraduate Course for the Teachers of Biology is approved, aiming on the formation of the teachers of biology. In the new structure,
teaching of Chemistry is separated from the Biology; Department of Chemistry
will be responsible for the formation of the teachers of Chemistry.
Doctorate
in Biology and other academic titles
DB is solely responsible
for the organization of exam commissions of Doctorate (PhD) in
biological fields. In DB there are also discussed the applications to obtain
the titles Associate Professor or
Professor, from Albanian biologists
from institutions within
