Project title:

Marine science and coastal management in the Adriatic, Western Balkan. An education and research network (yrs. 2006-2009) (back)

The project aims to support the future generation of scientists, educate younger scientists and integrate other scientists more in an international context through:

*      Joint scientific meetings and workshops on the oceanography and marine ecology of the eastern Adriatic, in cooperation with all partners.  Meetings, one per year, will take place over the entire region.

*      Joint courses for 10-20 students and young researchers in the field of marine chemistry (in Zagreb), marine geology (in Zagreb), plankton (in Podgoriza/Kotor) or (in Tirana/Durres).

*      Relatively simple field investigations during yrs. 2007-2008 in Kotorska Boka (organised by University of Podgoriza) with students from Albania (crossing the border), Podgoriza and Dubrovnik/Zagreb.

*      Specific studies of the various groups and scientific campaigns dealing with intensive investigations (once per year).
