Existing
undergraduate studies in Biology (Student’s Guide, back)
Biology-Chemistry:
old and reformed (4-year curricula
up to acc. year 2004-05) (programs)
Since the FNS was
founded, the main task of the former chairs, Botany and Zoology, has been traditionally the
preparation of experts in Biology-Chemistry.
Since ac. yr. 2005-o6, this diploma was stopped in normal time (substituted
with two 3-year diplomas in Biology and Environmental Biology), but it still
continues with part time course in Biology-Chemistry. In the profile of
Biology-Chemistry, totally, there were graduated ca. 1.750 experts who have
supported the teaching of Biology and Chemistry in the middle schools. Until 1985 they had been employed as biologists in the various research
institutions.
Existing diploma in Biology is delivered only in FNS (UT), while diploma for teachers in
Biology-Chemistry, is delivered also in the Universities of Shkodra ‘Luigj
Gurakuqi’, Gjirokastra ‘Eqerem Çabej’ and Elbasan ‘Aleksander Xhuvani’, with
almost the same teaching structure.
Biology-Chemistry
part time (reformed) (4-year curricula,
since acc. yr. 2003-04) (programs)
From 2003 the 4-year
curriculum of Biology-Chemistry resumed, part
time, where are matriculated ca. 90-100 students each year. The teaching is
run mainly during the weekends or during breaks of the normal teaching process,
developing up to 60% of teaching hours of the normal plan in Biology-Chemistry.
Between 1967-1983 and 1997-2005, more than 310 students were graduated in
Biology-Chemistry through correspondence (a kind of part time course), which
was stopped in yr. 2000.
Biology (5-year curricula, since acc. yr. 2003-04) (old & reformed, programs)
Since yr. 1985, the first
graduated experts came out from the 5-year profile of Biology, which was a
branch of Biology-Chemistry after the second year. The selection criterion was
the total mean of more than 8 in 10 votes as maximum. Until 2006, about 220
experts were graduated in Biology (from 3 in the year 1994 to 16 in 1995), whom
has now fulfilled the need of various administrative and research institutions.
