The main subjects covered by the department are:

• Pharmaceutical Technology

• Pharmaceutical Chemistry

• Pharmacognosy

• Toxicological Chemistry

• Pharmaceutical Legislation

• Biopharmacy and Pharmacokinetics.

There are four laboratories:

• Laboratory of Galenical Preparations

• Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Chemistry
  (Drug Analysis and Synthesis)

• Laboratory of Toxicological Chemistry

• Laboratory of Pharmacognosy.

The main studies carried out by the staff of 
the Department are in the fields of:

• Drug stability and analysis of drugs and their degradation products.
• Study about preparation and quality control of some pharmaceutical preparations
• Essential oil extraction from medicinal aromatic plants and analysis of its chemical composition.
